Signing up to become a full-service shopper
If you don’t finish the process at once, you can pick up where you left off by opening the app or by logging in to the signup website (U.S., Canada) using your phone number. You can find the Log In button on the top left of the screen.
Applying to become an in-store shopper
Applicants interested in applying for an in-store shopper position can submit the form in the Shopper app or online. Local Instacart teams review form submissions, and once approved, you’ll get an email with next steps.
The next step for in-store shopper applicants is an in-person onboarding session. Choose a session from the times and dates available in the Shopper app or by clicking the link in the email. In-person sessions can fill up quickly, so please keep in mind—
- New times and dates are added each week, so check back often.
- You can reschedule or cancel your session if you can’t make it.
- Cancelling or rescheduling opens up that slot and makes it available for others.
If your signup status shows as Awaiting Approval, that means the local Instacart team hasn’t reviewed your form yet.
Common signup problems and solutions
I see an error that my phone number or email is already taken.
You may have already started the signup process with us. Try selecting Log In (located in the upper right hand corner of the page) and entering your phone number.
